What this covers

Patternbook is a cross-market trading terminal for CS2 skins. This policy explains what we collect when you use the site and why. We keep it short and we keep it honest.

Product analytics & session replay

We use PostHog for product analytics and session replay to understand how the product is used and to improve it. Specifically, we collect:

  • Pages you view and how you navigate between them.
  • Usage events — which features and controls you interact with (for example: opening search, selecting a skin, clicking a buy link).
  • Masked session recordings — a replay of your session for debugging and UX research. Text you type into inputs is masked and is not captured; we record layout and clicks, not your keystrokes.
  • Basic technical metadata such as browser, device type, and approximate location derived from your IP.

Accounts

If you sign in with Steam, we associate analytics events with your account so we can support you and improve logged-in flows. We do not hold your funds or your items — Patternbook is non-custodial and routes you to the venues that settle trades themselves.

Cookies & local storage

We use cookies and browser local storage for analytics and to keep your session and preferences. You can clear these at any time through your browser settings.

What we don't do

We do not sell your data. We use it to run and improve Patternbook, and we share it only with the service providers (like PostHog) that help us operate the product.
